Youngsville, Sharpsville, and Cathedral Prep Clinch Region Titles; Playoffs Set

-Youngsville won their first ever Region 2 title, and completed their first undefeated regular season since 1966, by beating Saegertown 48-22. Jordan Gurdak scored 4 times on runs of 60, 33, 11, and 70, and totaled 204 yards on only 9 carries. Youngsville led 48-0 at the half, before Shane Rigby caught 2 third quarter TD passes from QB Noah Marvin to get the Panthers on the board.
-Meadville became the first team in Crawford County history to finish the season with three 1,000 yard rushers, as Artrel Foster eclipsed the mark in the Bulldogs’ 55-0 blowout of Titusville. Foster rushed for 236 yards on 30 carries and 2 scores. FB Fred Epps rushed for 136 yards and 4 TDs in the win. Foster(1,024), joins Epps(1,318), and Terrance Goodrum(1,109) to reach the milestone on the year.
-Cambridge Springs clinched the #4 spot in the playoffs from Region 2 with a 12-7 win over Iroquois. Weston Stafford led the Blue Devils with 120 yards on the ground, including a 61 yard TD on the first play from scrimmage.
-Sharpsville clinched the Region 1 title outright with a 47-20 win over Linesville. Joey Flynn torched the Lions for 127 rushing yards, 90 receiving yards, and 5 total TDs. Linesville had high hopes coming into the season after they absorbed Conneaut Lakes football program, but the Lions seemed to stumble down the stretch after their upset loss to rival Conneaut Valley, and will ultimately miss the playoffs.
-Union City QB Tim Vargo threw for 2 TDs and ran for another to lead the Bears to a 21-18 win over Eisenhower.
-General McLane jumped out to an early 48-0 lead, and held on for a 61-33 win over Franklin.
-Cornelius Barclay rushed for 150 yards on only 6 carries and scored 3 times to lead Mercyhurst Prep to a 48-7 win over Maplewood.
-Alex Svetz rushed for 107 yards on 20 carries and 2 TDs to lead North East over Ft Leboeuf 14-11.
-Cathedral Prep kicker John Chereson set yet another school record, kicking 4 field goals in the Ramblers 35-0 win over East. The win gives Prep the Region 6 title outright.
-Reynolds RB Tyler Miller scored 3 TDs on the ground, and returned an interception 75 yards for another score to lead the Raiders past Seneca, 33-6.
– Lakeview RB Blake Reddick rushed for 266 yards and 3 TDs to lead the Sailors to a 40-0 win over Kennedy Catholic.
-Warren QB Austin Jerman completed 24 of 36 passes for 352 yards and 2 TDs, but Corry came away with a 27-22 win over the Dragons.
-Kyle Mariacher rushed for 271 yards and 4 TDs to lead Mercer to a 42-6 win over West Middlesex.
-Tyler Donati rushed for 106 yards and 2 TDs to lead Wilmington over Northwestern, 28-0.
– In other action, A-C Valley edged Conneaut Valley 18-16, Sharon hammered Oil City 44-6, Slippery Rock beat Greenville 23-12, Harbor Creek shut out Central Tech 40-0, and Dubois pounded Bradford 52-21.
