Woodland Hills DE Quinton Jefferson up to 8 D-1 offers

Written by: Josh Funk on Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Woodland Hills has pictures of its players that have gone on to play collegiate football posted on a large section of one of the walls of the hallway leading to its locker room.

A few more portraits will be added after the 2010 season, and one of those will belong to defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson.

Jefferson, a 6’3, 225-pound defensive end, has scholarship offers from eight Division-1 programs, according to his profile on Rivals.com. Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse, West Virginia and Wisconsin have all offered the Wolverine senior-to-be.

Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue have shown interest, but not yet extended a scholarship offer, according to Rivals.

Woodland Hills did not submit individual or season defensive statistics to Maxpreps.com, and no statistics accompany information on Jefferson’s Rivals profile.

Jefferson was part of a Woodland Hills defense that was downright nasty last season, allowing 132 points in 14 games (9.43 ppg), holding 12 opponents to 14 points or less, with two shutouts, including a 10-0 blanking of Gateway in the WPIAL “AAAA” championship game.

The Wolverines won their fifth WPIAL championship last season and first since 2002, when the turquoise and black won three WPIAL titles in four year from 1999-2002. Woodland Hills was eliminated by State College Area in the PIAA playoffs, 14-3, capping a 12-2 season.
