It was a busy day for commitments yesterday in the WPIAL. Three players committed to play for division 1 college programs. Gateway defensive back Jeremiah Josephs announce via twitter that he was ending his recruitment and committing to play for the Miami Red Hawks:

The 5-10, 168 Josephs had many offers, including Howard, Toledo, RMU, Eastern Michigan, Buffalo and Eastern Kentucky.  The school and education was my first influence” said Josephs of why he chose Miami. “Then I feel as if I can play and dominate in the Mac early in my career there. I’m gonna play DB and I didn’t want anything else.  My family and I know this is what’s best for me.”

Several hours later, Woodland Hills DB Mike Coleman announced that he had chosen the Toledo Rockets to extend his playing and academic career:

Coleman has been hot as of late on the recruiting trail, boasting offers from Western Michigan, Miami OH, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Central Michigan, Fordham, Kent ST, Temple, Hampton, Norfolk St, Howard and Morgan St.

Finally yesterday, Pine-Richland linebacker Tyler King ended his recruitment by making a big splash, announcing he will serve the country as he plays college ball for the Navy Midshipmen:

The 6-1, 220 All-WesternPAFootball.net and PAWriters All-State selection King had offers from Akron, Buffalo, Kent St, Ball St, Old Dominion and Army. As a junior for the Rams, King helped lead his team to the 2017 6A State Championship by recovering a key fumble in the endzone halting a td drive. “I picked Navy because I think I have what It takes to succeed there. I was recruited to play Inside Linebacker. I decided to commit now because ever since I was first offered a couple weeks ago they were at the top of my list, but after my visit I knew it was for me. Also, committing now will guarantee me a spot.”
