Upper St. Clair OL Ian Park up to 6 D-1 offers

Written by: on Sunday, April 17th, 2011

Upper St. Clair senior-to-be Ian Park has been gaining momentum in terms of Division-1 offers and interest.

The Panthers’ 6’4, 300-pound offensive guard is up to six Division-1 offers from Cincinnati, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, according to Scout.com.  Scout and Rivals.com also list schools showing interest but not yet having extended an offer as Auburn, Connecticut, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Ohio State and Penn State.  Earlier in his recruiting process, Boston College and Wisconsin also had expressed interest in Park.

Park was part of a Panthers’ offensive line that helped to pave the way for an offense that averaged 309.8 yards (216.5. rushing, 83.3 passing) and 24 points per game.  The USC offensive arsenal included five backs with between 215 to 1,085 rushing yards and a 910-yard passer.  The Panthers scored 32 total offensive touchdowns (25 rushing, 7 passing).

Upper St. Clair finished 8-3 in 2010, reaching the WPIAL AAAA quarterfinals before falling to North Hills, 16-14.
