Team #8 Farrell (10) 0-0
Written by: David Mika on Friday, August 27th, 2010The Steelers have had quite a three-year run recently, posting a 35-7 record, winning a pair of District 10 Class A championships and reaching the PIAA semifinals each of the last two years. The Steelers defensive unit will be keyed by big Rob Trudo, a Division-1 prospect with a handful of offers from schools like Syracuse and Toledo. Senior RB Jamar Whitman returns to anchor the Steelers’ multi-faceted rushing attack – entering the PIAA semifinals, Whitman had churned out more than 900 rushing yards and was the blue and gold’s “feature” back. The Steelers also return seniors Kevin Brodie (RB/CB) and Malcolm Hailstock (RB/DE). Farrell averaged 35.6 points per game last season. The Steelers’ defense has been especially nasty the last two years – holding 21 of 30 opponents to eight points or less, with 10 shutouts.
