Shaler TE/DE JP Holtz issues verbal declaration to Pittsburgh
Written by: David Mika on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012JP Holtz is one of the top tight ends in Western Pennsylvania. On Wednesday he verbally committed to Pittsburgh.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end picked Pitt over Michigan State and had several other schools like Cincinnati, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, West Virginia and many more.
As a senior he caught 19 passes for 334 yards and 15 touchdowns. He rushed for 337 yards.
His team finished with a record of 5-5 and lost in the first round of the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs to Gateway.
He was selected to play in the Big 33 game.
