Riverview High School hires new head football coach

riverviewOn January 20th, Riverview School District administrators and board members announced the appointment of Jason Cappa as the new Head Varsity Football Coach. Cappa joins the district as its 5th football coach following Todd Massack, who resigned after leading the District’s football program for 7 seasons.

Coach Cappa, brings 14 years of coaching experience with him to the job. He spent 8 years as the Defensive Coordinator for Riverview and 3 years as an Assistant Coach under Coach Joe Rossi at Riverview prior to Rossi’s current coaching term at South Fayette. Mr. Cappa’s experience also includes serving as an assistant coach at Shady Side Academy and South Alegheny High School. Cappa played 4 years of collegiate level football at Clarion University where he was an inside linebacker and a member of the school’s NCAA Division Final 4 Team. As a Riverview High School student, Cappa played football, basketball, and baseball.
