At Reynolds Friday night it was a happy senior night for the Raiders as they took the phrase “ground and pound” to another level. The Raiders ran for 505 yards as a team against West Middlesex en route to a 42-19 victory. This improves the Raiders to 3-6 and the Big Reds dropped to 6-3.
The Raiders were led by Dylan McDanel who had a monster game rushing for 316 yards on 30 carries and four Touchdowns. The Big Reds had an opportunity to bring it to a one possession game afer Jason Ash returned a Kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown to make it 28-13 Reynolds. However the Reds could not stop McDanel as he took a jet sweep 66 yards to the house and that was as close as West Middlesex got the rest of the game.
Also leading Reynolds was Quarterback Garrett Daniello who had 87 yards on 7 carries for two scores and Adam Ballish had 10 carries for 62 yards. Reynolds did not complete one pass all game however they turned the Reds over 4 times all converted all of them to points.
Leading West Middlesex were Luke Hemminger running for 41 yards on 9 carriers. Quarterback Nick Cannone was 11-26 for 186 yards and two TD’s but also threw 2 interceptions. Jourdan Townsend lead the Reds in receiving with 64 yards and a score on three catches.
West Middlesex had already clinched the 3rd seed in the region the week prior and should open up with Iroquois in the D10 playoffs. Reynolds will travel to North East next week to conclude their season.
