Pittsburgh Central Catholic is coming off its first 10-win season in three years’ time, and returns a bevy of talented underclassmen for what could end up being a run to a fourth PIAA football championship.
And featured receiving target Anthony Nixon is one several Viking players who are receiving interest and offers from Division-1 football programs.
Nixon, is up to four verbal scholarship offers, according to recruiting service Rivals.com. The 6’1, 185-pound athlete holds offers from Northwestern, Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia, according to Rivals, as well as interest from Cincinnati, Iowa and Michigan State.
Scout.com also reports Nixon has received interest from Akron, Kent State and Toledo of the Mid American Conference.

Defensively, Nixon was a fixture in the defensive backfield for a Viking team that held 10 of 12 opponents to 14 points or less, with two shutouts. Central Catholic allowed an average of 8.3 points per game in 2010.
