Tawan Wesley threw for 345 yards and six touchdowns as Imani Christian rolled past Riverview 66-6 Saturday afternoon in Oakmont.

Wesley engineered a Saints offense that rolled up 601 yards of total offense and scored on 10 of its 11 possessions in the game.

Imani needed ten plays to score their first touchdown as Wesley, and Rahmon Hart connected for a 10-yard score.

Wesley then threw four touchdown passes on Imani’s next seven offensive snaps; two to Sam Fairley from 28 & 53 yards out, while also hitting Ray Jackson in stride on a 58-yard bomb and Brian Yates with an 8-yard strike.

Yates and Jackson’s touchdowns were sandwiched between the Raiders lone score of the game which came when Billy Conley scooped up a Saints fumble and returned to their 6-yard line.

Faced with a fourth-and-goal from the six; quarterback Jared Massack rolled out left and hit Jack Stock with a 6-yard scoring pass that made the score 18-6 early in the second quarter.

The Saints closed out the first half as Wesley and Asante Watkins connected on a 75-yard touchdown pass putting the Saints up 38-6 at intermission.

Watkins finished the game with 238 yards of total offense including 144 rushing on ten carries. Rahmon Hart lead the group of balanced receivers with 96 yards on three catches, Fairley added two for 81 and Jackson one for 58.

Imani Christian invoked the mercy rule 85 seconds into the second half as Watkins scored on a 5-yard run

Fairley then returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown as Imani lead 54-6 after three-quarters.

Hart hauled a short reception and outraced the Raiders defense on an 85-yard pass from Wesley and Watkins scored on a 19-yard touchdown run with no time remaining to bring the final score to 66-6.

Riverview was held to negative 18 yards of offense in the second half and had just 45 yards of offense in the game.

“I challenged my guys today, and they responded really well,” said Imani Christian head coach Ronnell Heard. “We have three big games in the upcoming weeks with California, Jeannette and Clairton, we need to prepare and be ready just like we were today.”
