Franklin Regional has another athlete generating interest on the recruiting scene – two-way athlete Chad Bowman.
Bowman, who doubles as a running back and safety for the Panthers, has four collegiate offers from smaller schools and interest from numerous Division-1 programs.
To date, Bowman has received offers from Sacred Heart, Bryant, Concord, and Notre Dame (Ohio) colleges, but the list of schools that have not yet offered and are showing interest provide more recognizable names.
The list of interested parties in Bowman, as per Rivals.com, include, but are not limited to the following: Boston College, Northwestern, Ohio State, Pitt, Temple, Tennessee, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Ohio, and Toledo.
Bowman finished the 2008 season running for 540 yards on 70 carries with six touchdowns, adding 29 kick/punt returns for 592 yards. He averaged 7.7 yards per carry, 18 yards per punt return, and 23 yards per kickoff return.
Scout.com’s evaluation of Bowman projects him as a defensive player at the next level.
Franklin Regional’s offense averaged 331 yards and 23.5 points per game last season, falling in the opening round of the WPIAL “AAA” playoffs. The Panthers compete in the WPIAL’s Greater Allegheny Conference.
