Erie Cathedral Prep S Mario Sanders receiving D-1 interest

Safety Mario Sanders, a 6’0, 181-pound senior-to-be, has received interest, but no scholarship offers to date, from six Division-1 programs – Akron, Iowa, Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse and Toledo – according to his profile on Rivals.com.
Sanders posted solid numbers during his junior season in the Ramblers’ defensive backfield. He tallied 106 tackles (42 solo; 19 tackles for loss), 10 sacks, broke up six passes and recovered three fumbles. Sanders averaged 7.5 tackles per game, finishing four games with 10+ tackles.
Sanders led Cathedral Prep in tackles and finished second on the team in sacks, behind John Gianoni’s team-best 14.5 sacks.
Erie Cathedral Prep allowed 177 points in 14 games last season (12.6 ppg.), holding six opponents to seven points or less, with three shutouts.
