Mark Lyons was hired Thursday night as the first varsity football coach at Central Valley High School. Next year Center and Monaca will merge to become Central Valley.

Lyons previously held head coaching positions at Monaca and Freedom. He was also the head coach at Mount Pleasant and an assistant at New Brighton.
