In a game that was dominated by defense, Central Catholic pulled out a big win with a fourth quarter touchdown.
The first quarter both teams exchanged punts and featured a few turnovers. Both teams had the ball 3 times with both teams failing to score.
Early in the second quarter, Central Catholic finally got on the board when Troy Fisher connected with Gavin Thomson for a 72 yard touchdown.
Towards the end of second quarter, North Allegheny had a good drive going that featured several runs by Turner White. The drive was stopped when Luke Trueman was intercepted to end the quarter.
North Allegheny turned the ball over 3 times in the first half.
North Allegheny got the ball to start the second half. On that drive they finally found the end zone on a 16 yard run by Turner White. The drive was 9 plays and went 76 yards. The drive took over 4 minutes
That would be the only scoring play in the third quarter. With 12 minutes remaining the game was tied at 7. In the fourth quarter North Allegheny struggled to get into Central Catholic territory.
About halfway through the quarter Central Catholic would take the lead back again on which featured 2 big passes one ¬†to Cam Laconi and a another by Khalil Weathers. That would setup a 1 yard touchdown run by Troy Fisher.
The last drive North Allegheny failed to get 1 first down. The drive featured 2 sacks. North Allegheny turned the ball over on downs and the final was 14-7 Central Catholic.
Troy Fisher had a big night for Central Catholic. He was 11 of 19 for 159 yards, He also had 55 yards rushing. Turner White was the star for North Allegheny who had 167 yards on 28 carries.
Central Catholic is now 2-1 and will travel to Hempfield next Friday. North Allegheny looks to rebound against Shaler at home next week.
