Central Catholic DB has first D-1 offer

Written by: on Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Pittsburgh Central Catholic defensive back David “DJ” Myers has one Division-1 offer, and interest from three other programs, according to Rivals.com.

The Vikings’ senior-to-be has an offer from Ohio University, which competes in the Mid-American Conference.  Myers has also drawn interest from Michigan State, Northwestern, and Pitt.

Myers was used sparingly in the Vikings’ run to their third PIAA championship in 2007.  Last season, he was part of a Central Catholic squad that went 8-3 overall before being eliminated in the WPIAL “AAAA” quarterfinals by McKeesport.

Central Catholic’s defense allowed an average of 15 points per game in 2008, holding five opponents to six points or less, with four shutouts.
