Blue Devils Take Control of D10 Region 1-A, Beat Big Reds

At the Pines in Sharpsville it was the Blue Devils rolling to a Region 1-A win over the West Middlesex Big Reds 37-6. The Devils did not have to punt once the entire game scoring on the majority of their possessions and converting multiple fourth downs. They outgained the Reds significantly on the ground and in the air. Sharpsville improves to 3-0 in Region 1-A and 5-0 overral. The number 3 team in the state is led by their over powering offensive line and bruising backs. Even from spread formations the Devils find a way to play smash-mouth football. West Middlesex falls to 2-2 in Region 1-A and 3-2 overall.

Sharpsville was led by Kaliq Ragster who had another 200 yard rushing performance, running for 212 yards on 19 carries and 3 scores. His scoring strikes included runs of 44, 7, and 23 yards. Returning to action was Sharpsville junior signal caller Luke Henwood who missed the last two games because on mono. He was 5-14 for 146 yards and two scores. Not completing a down field pass, Sharpsville’s big plays came from screen passes that their shifty and speedy skills took the distance seemingly every time.

Leading the Devil’s in receiving was Marquis Altman with 2 catches for 83 yards with a score yards score. He also had an interception on defense. Connor Williams also added a 22 yard field goal.

The Ville erupted for 448 yards of total offense with West Middlesex just amassed 114 total yards.
The Big Red’s were led by Quarterback Nicky Cannone running for 17 yards on 10 carries. The Blue Devil’s defense was too much to handle as the run game was non-existent last night for the Reds. Cannone was also 9-17 passing for 87 yards with a score and an interception. Jourdan Townsend caught the lone score for WM from 14 yards out.
