It almost seemed like something slightly novel to see the Rams at Heinz Field for the WPIAL championship game, seeing that Rochester hadn’t reached the WPIAL finals since 2006 and has not claimed a WPIAL title since 2004. But the Rams ran to a 12-0 start and were a two-point conversion away from advancing to the PIAA playoffs for the seventh time in school history. All-everything type of athlete Trey Johnson (1,000+ rushing yards) graduated, but the Rams do have a weapon in senior quarterback Jasson Adamson, who threw for 1,383 yards and 16 touchdowns in Rochester’s first 12 games of the season. The blue and white hadn’t seen passing numbers like that since the Dan Camp/Derek Moye days a few years ago.
