District 8 Talk Week 2

Perry – Where are all the points?
For the second straight week, Perry finished a game scoring in the single-digits. One was good enough for a win. This latest effort was not so much.
Schenley stunned Perry 8-6, a week after the Commodores shut out Brashear, 7-0. It’s interesting to note that, through two weeks, Perry has a total season output of 13 points for to eight allowed.
That’s only weird in a way because Perry used to have very explosive offenses that simply dominated and scored many, many points. Three Commodore teams (1997, 2001, 2002) topped the 500-point mark, and three others scored more than 450 points.
The Commodores will be looking to hit double-digit points for the first time this season against Carrick. The prospects look good for that to happen – Perry scored 14 points a year ago against the Raiders.
Brashear – Bulls score 60 points – so how good are they?
From shut out to lights out…which Brashear team will City League fans be seeing this year?
In somewhat of a Jekyll and Hyde fashion, the Bulls, which have easily the most explosive offensive unit in the City League, got a goose egg in the point column against Perry, and then dropped 61 points on Langley this past week in a dominating 61-6 victory.
Bruce Patterson, Henri Chatman, and Manesseh Garner are the Bulls’ “big three” this year, just like last, but we’ll get a good indication this week when Schenley plays the Bulls. Schenley beat Perry last weekend, 8-6.
