Woodland Hills WR Shakim Alonzo issues oral declaration to Cincinnati

The featured wide receiver in Woodland Hills’ aerial assault this season and last has selected where he will continue his collegiate football career.
Shakim Alonzo, a 6’5, 205-pound athlete for the Wolverines, issued an oral declaration to Cincinnati today, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as well as national recruiting service Scout.com.
In addition to Cincinnati, Alonzo held scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Pitt, Purdue, Temple, Toledo, West Virginia and Wisconsin. He was ranked as the 106th-best wide receiver in the 2012 recruiting class and rated as a three-star prospect by Scout.
As a junior, Alonzo caught 23 passes for 514 yards and five touchdowns as Woodland Hills reached the WPIAL AAAA championship game opposite North Allegheny. Through seven games of his senior season, Alonzo has hauled in 14 passes for 273 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 19.5 yards per reception.
Woodland Hills is presently 6-1 on the season and in second place in the Big East Conference, trailing only undefeated and nationally regarded Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
