Quarterback – Class of 2011-2012

Written by: on Thursday, February 24th, 2011

Who are some of the top quarterbacks going into the 2011 season? Here’s our list of the top three quarterbacks in Western PA. Who do you think makes the top five list?

1. Dillon Buechel, Montour

Buechel threw for 2,221 yards and 24 touchdowns, leading Montour to the WPIAL AAA championship game against Central Valley.  Buechel has thrown for 4,093 career yards and 34 touchdowns and has an overall record of 17-6 as a varsity starting quarterback.  The Spartans averaged 372 yards of offense and 32.1 points per game last season.

2. Thomas Woodson, Gateway

Only a junior in 2011, Woodson had a respectable sophomore season and has tremendous upside.  He threw for 1,362 yards and added more than 400 yards rushing for the Gators.  Woodson figures to be a very highly recruited athlete in Pennsylvania’s 2013 recruiting class.

3. Damion Terry, Cathedral Prep

The Ramblers’ junior-to-be helped lead his team to a 9-5 record and berth in the PIAA AAA semifinals opposite Bishop McDevitt, Prep’s first state semifinals appearance since 2000.  Terry threw for 1,780 yards and 19 touchdowns against five interceptions.  He also ran for 555 yards and nine additional touchdowns.  Is on pace to become the second District 10 quarterback to throw for 5,600+ yards in career.

Chandler Kincade of Blackhawk. at 6-5 210 and going into his sophomore season kincade has the most impressive physical tools of anybody on this list! A surefire talent that can really be special down the road!!

  6. JagOff says:

Dom Presto from TJ. As part time starter made honorable mention for QB in the Big 8 conference. Next in long line of Jaguar QB excellence. With returning receiving core of Nick Raimondi and Zach Schadman and new comer Jake Mascaro, look for big things from Presto.
