An Ivy League school has landed one of the WPIAL’s top AAAA running backs.
Luke Hagy, a 5’11, 185-pound senior for Mt. Lebanon High School, issued an oral declaration to Cornell Tuesday, according to Tony Greco, publisher of PantherDigest.com, Scout’s website for the University of Pittsburgh.
Hagy held an offer from Pitt, Patriot League rep Bucknell and Ivy League schools Dartmouth and Princeton in addition to Cornell.
Through the first six weeks of his senior season, Hagy has run for 1,096 yards and 15 touchdowns on 144 carries. He ran for more than 1,950 yards as a junior and just over 900 as a sophomore. He is just 12 yards shy of 4,000 for his career and has 60 rushing touchdowns – both his career rushing total and career rushing touchdown mark are Mt. Lebanon school records.
