Week one game(s)

Written by: on Sunday, August 21st, 2011

What game(s) are you going to attend week one? Break down the matchup of your game.

I will be covering the Downingtown East vs. Allentown Central Catholic game. It will be interesting to see ACC’s offensive/defensive line. Can they contain Drew Harris? Any one else going to this one?

We will be covering about 20 games this first week on both sites!

Friday, Altoona plays Hollidaysburg at Mansion Park. The Lions didn’t win a game in their first season in the WPIAL. Don’t know how many they’ll get this year, but they need this one for local respect. Tigers had a playoff game in their first year in the league. They’re always tough for Altoona, but it’s the way the season should start in these parts.

The Thomas Jefferson vs Woodland Hills should be an interesting matchup in the WPIAL in week 1. Perennial AAAA power against a perennial AAA power. TJ has 8 starters back on offense and 7 on defense which went 10-2 last year. Woodland Hills will be big and fast as usual. Not often two powers like this match up in week 1.

I will be watching the PCC/Archbishop wood game…this should be the best one for kick off 2011 if not the whole year..I had the opportunity to see Wood play last year on a trip back to Philly last year..They were very good and have 7 D-1 players..Very big, fast and philly tough..should be a great one….
