2008 WesternPAFootball.net Big School Player of the Year:

Written by: on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Tyler Wehner, Senior QB, Thomas Jefferson High School

Talk about what a difference a year makes.  Wehner was one of the catalysts of a Thomas Jefferson offense which set a school record for points scored in a season (616) and lit up scoreboards all across the state.  Wehner completed 119-of-211 passes for 2,654 yards and 33 touchdowns.  But #3 wasn’t just a thrower – he could run, too.  He finished as Thomas Jefferson’s second-leading rusher with 707 yards and 12 touchdowns.  Wehner is the sole owner of five school records.  He tied for a sixth school record with a 99-yard touchdown run this year.  The TJ senior finished his career with 3,641 passing yards, just 359 yards shy of becoming the Jaguars’ second 4,000-yard passer in team history.
