  1. football scout says:

Clairton is the #1 team in the state in Class A this year. There is no one on the western side of the state that can compete with them this year. Rochester is down. Farrell is down. They walk to the PIAA title game. Rematch with Riverside is looming…

  2. div says:

AA will be Greensburg Central and Aliquippa at Heinz field with GCC going to states for the championship.

  3. Chuck Lewis says:

    AAAA
    1. PCC – Consensus says they’re loaded.Could be one of their better teams. Their problem is too much talent (everyone can’t play).
    2. NA- – Art Walker Jr has his program humming.
    3. USC – supposedly one of Render’s best teams
    4. Gateway – Should be strong with a lot returning.
    5. Woodland Hills – Novak will have his team playing well come playoff time.

My prediction for Heinz Field (WPIAL Finals)is PCC and NA. Upper St Clair could get there if Render has his way.

  4. G says:

Clairton is the No.1 single A team in the WPIAL this year.

  5. Jamal says:

I think this year will be a very tough one to gauge in AAA. The WPIAL will have some strong teams, but none as dominant as Thomas Jefferson was a few years back. I look for Erie Cathedral Prep to be fairly strong coming out of District 10 and could meet McDevitt again in the Western Final. In so far as the WPIAL, don’t be shocked if Thomas Jefferson reemerges as a district champ this year. They lost a bit from their lines from last year but are absolutely loaded with talent at the skilled positions on offense.

In AAAA, until proven otherwise, I’d say Pittsburgh Central Catholic is the team to beat. Upper St. Clair could also make some noise in the WPIAL this year.

  6. Lance says:

Aliquippa strong again as well as Seton-Lasalle,Beaver and sleeper Washington from the wpial. In D-10 Wilmington is strong!!

  7. Lance says:

Beaver Falls class AA has a deep stable of running backs. Senior QB Weslley Nesmith and a tall and talented receiving corps led by 6-6 Royce Watson and 6-4 Deyne Richardson! The Defense should be solid!!

  8. D6 Guru says:

The Best District 6 has to offer as follows.

AAAA-Well there is only two or three, I’d pick State College. Good program only a few years removed from a State Championship appearance.

AAA-Johnstown. D1 Talent across the board, athletic and dangerous. Could make some noise in States. But when push comes to shove, Johnstown plays in an all A/AA league, doesn’t prepare you to beat AAA teams.

AA-Forest Hills and Tyrone. Two proud hard working areas with tough kids. Tyrone has more coming back, but Forest Hills still has their typical size and good coaching. Expect a win in the 1st round, beating a WPIAL team isn’t impossible but neither team id loaded.

A-Bishop McCort. Down year last year, but possesses the best record in District 6 over the past 5 years anyway. Could see a McCort-Clairton Title game. They have the ability to get there.
