This morning it was reported that North Penn would battle Gateway in a week one contest in Monroeville on September 3rd. That game would be the first of two games between the two teams, as the Gators would travel to North Penn in 2011.

However, this afternoon Gateway athletic director and head football coach Terry Smith said that the perennial power from suburban Philadelphia pulled out of the agreement just a few hours prior. Gateway is still without a week one game, and will continue to look elsewhere.

Update: Gateway will play at Bishop McDevitt to start the 2010 season
