If and when Grove City beats a Wilmington or Sharon, then you can vent. But Franklin is HORRIBLE. Grove City was playing second and third string against them and they still were running the ball and putting up points. That doesnt mean Grove City is any good, it means that Franklin was that bad. GC will have a good season and make playoffs I am sure, but they are not good enought to be ranked among the top 10 in the state.

  2. Jamal says:

The WPIAL is stacked this year in AAA. Do they have the best team in the state in the classification? Right now, I think not. But, throughout the season, teams play and beat each other and from what I can gather, when you have a bunch of solid teams going at it, good coaching becomes an even greater factor. And the WPIAL has no shortage of those in the AAA classification. Everyone is saying this is a “rebuilding” year for Thomas Jefferson and it looked that way in week 1, but do not be shocked if they’re back at Heinz Field and beyond come November. And, from what folks have been telling me, this team is going to be absolutely loaded possibly as early as 2011. Also, a team not mentioned in these rankings but could be a darkhorse come playoff time is Belle Vernon Area. Look for a great matchup on PCN in week 8 when TJ plays BVA.

Montour,West Allegheny,Hopewell and Moon. All solid teams

Central Valley seems to be doing well also. That is an excellent Conference. Sorry Wilmington and Sgaron don’t quite compare.

2 Ranked ahead of New Castle and 1 in the Honorable Mention, and one has the best player in the Pennsylvania…(Hopewell)

  4. Jamal says:

New Castle in a crap division? I think not. They play in the WPIAL Parkway Conference and I challenge anyone in the state to tell me that there is a stronger conference in AAA from top to bottom. I do agree though that Grove City’s win was impressive and may deserve some recognition. It would be one thing if they’d have left starters in for 48 minutes and just ran up the score, but looking at the statistics for that game, it obviously wasn’t the case. But, before you go and bash these rankings, do a little homework yourself. It isn’t all about which team you beat up on one week. It is about pure talent and your ability to be able to win the big games week after week. And, if you are able to do that, then believe me you will steadily rise through the rankings until, hopefully a week before Christmas, your favorite team’s name is #1

how can you leave Grove City out? They are 3-0 and just beat a 2-0 Franklin 91-12! Itleast gotta be number 10. Now i understand that this is heavily favored for Eastern PA teams, but be real man! be real! New Castle plays in a crap division. Prep plays in a worse Region. D10 is strong in Class AA and AAA. Ever heard of Sharon, or wilmington?

Do your rankings some justice. Now if they lose next week, then i understand. But if they convincingly, please take some consideration. 47 points in 2nd qtr. they could have probably score 120+ but they put in the 3rd graders at half.
