Cambridge Springs – Saegertown game postponed

Written by: on Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Tonight’s scheduled Cambridge Springs – Saegertown Region 2 high school football game has been postponed due to poor field conditions, according to the Meadville Tribune newspaper Web site.

Saegertown High School, located in north central Crawford County, just north of the city of Meadville, received five inches of snow in a storm that hit the state Wednesday.

The Panthers’ field is unmarked, unpainted, and still has spots with heavy snow coverage on it, athletic director Jerry Nowakowski told the Tribune.

The game will be played Saturday afternoon, with kickoff slated for 2 p.m.

Saegertown is looking to complete a perfect 10-0 season and earn a #1 seed in the upcoming District 10 “A” playoffs.  Cambridge Springs, with a win, would claim the Region 2 crown with a 6-1 record in Region 2 play.
