Tuesday night Bedford school board named Kevin Steele head football coach. Former head coach Dan Smith stepped down at the end of the 2009 season. In five years at Tussey Mountain, Steele team’s made the District 5 Class A playoffs. Steel had a 26-27 record at Tussey.

The Yough School Board voted unanimously Thursday night to hire Mark Crovak as the head football coach. Jim Ward resigned Feb. 24. Ward left after one season to become the head coach at McKeesport. Crovak was most recently a volunteer assistant at Hempfield. He is employed as a history teacher at Penn-Trafford High School.

Mark Lyons was hired Thursday night as the first varsity football coach at Central Valley High School. Next year Center and Monaca will merge to become Central Valley.
